David and Tamzin

As a former Design Engineer working on contracts for companies, including Rolls Royce Engines, as well as extensive experience in the building and construction industry, David is familiar with turning complex ideas on paper into reality using a variety of different materials.

I enjoy transferring these skills into developing my love of working with wood. I particularly like making hand formed pots and I am in the process of making a raku kiln to fire them in. I also have a list of other creative projects waiting for my attention which I have been storing up to do when we finished the B&B, such as a series of collage works. ORANGE: This is the 'sacral' chakra colour, and is a joyous transition between the red and the yellow. It relates to the adrenal glands and is strongly influenced by genetic patterning, representing independence, happiness and creative energies, and is a useful colour when red is too strong, and a wonderful 'tonic' for an all-over healing 'bathe' of colour.

Caro moved to Cornwall from Jersey to undertake her MA in 'Contemorary Visual Practice' at Falmouth College of Arts in 2000. Having settled in Cornwall she finds the area's rich history of ancient sites and mythological connections to the landscape very inspirational. Artist's Statement.

When David and I set up the B&B business in 2004, I thought I would have plenty of free time to pursue my professional practice. In the end we were so busy, this proved impossible and at the end of the 2010 season we made the decision to close the B&B to concentrate our professional energies on the things we loved doing most.

Since then, I have been learning the software to enable me to design and create this website, for instance, as well as starting a new blog: 'my sketch book pages', www.carowoods.com. To see more of Caro's work, exhibitions list, etc: www.carowoods.co.uk.
